Blockages
Our Service Engineers are fully qualified and highly
trained professionals and have been working with London’s
sewers for many years; their invaluable experience
will help to determine the cause of the problem without
delay and to deal with it in the most efficient way.
You will be advised on possible causes of the blockage
whether internal or external and what would or could
be done to deal with bad smells or other potential
problems and how to avoid these in future. Blockage
clearances in most cases are dealt with within the
hour and our engineers will do everything in their
hands to make it so, provided that it doesn’t
compromise the health or safety of your property
or environment and that reasonably easy access is
available*. Any works requiring more than an hour
will not be undertaken until the client is first
advised.
See our call out and blockage clearance rates.
Drain and Sewer Cleaning (Jet Cleaning)
One of the surest ways to maintain a free flowing
and odour free drain is to have your drainage and
sewer pipes cleaned with our environmentally friendly
jetting systems.
High pressure water is used to thoroughly clean pipes
of differing materials and sizes. One of the biggest
problems in London’s sewers is kitchen fat and
grease which is poured into the sewers. The sewer
pipes act much like the arteries in our bodies which
when abused with junk food begin clogging up causing
heart related problems, sewer pipes are much the same
thing and when abused, the walls of the pipes eventually
get smaller until nothing can pass through them. Fortunately
for your drains, this can be resolved with a high
pressure jet clean which will leave your drain as
good as new. Even though a jet clean can take several
hours, depending on the length and size of the pipes
and whether the cause of the problem, silt, fat and
grease, roots etc, the end result will be years of
trouble free maintenance. Sewers need to be looked
after, in the same way that your body also needs to
be. Ignoring the problem will not make it go away
and in the long run you could potentially be creating
a bigger and more expensive problem as frequently
recurring blockages will occur. If this is the case
with your drain then a jet clean could be exactly
what your sewer needs. See our prices for jet cleaning.
We highly recommend this after a blockage, our engineers
will best advise you while on site.
CCTV Surveys
One of the greatest inventions in recent years has
been the development of closed circuit televisions.
We have all seen in the media those tiny cameras they
use to probe and investigate the inside of our bodies.
In the drainage business these developments have also
spurred on better and more efficient ways of investigating
sewer pipes.
Robot cameras with special lighting technology are
used to probe drains and sewers.
The development of such technology has for many been
a great relief financially as these can identify where
exactly problems such as collapsed sewer pipes and
tree roots lie so as to enable an excavation or relining,
or to establish the recurring cause of the blockage.
This enables a much more cost effective and efficient
way of dealing with this threat and if excavation
is required to replace or repair a pipe, then this
can be pinpointed to the exact place saving time and
money.
If our engineers while on site suspect a problem with
your drain, they will best advise you on how to proceed.

Excavations & Repairs
Drain excavations and repairs can vary significantly.
Drains and sewers may crack due to ground movement,
subsidence, tree root infiltration, or corrosion -
or they may totally collapse. The result is a structurally
defective drain causing repeat blockages or leaks
into the surrounding soil.
There is no one way of dealing with these types of
problems. One of our qualified personnel would need
to inspect the place in question to determine what
is required. After having taken into consideration
all the factors, i.e. permits, equipment, staff, etc.
he would then be able to provide you with an estimate
and all other relevant information.
See contact to arrange appointment.
All excavation work is carried out by qualified personnel
who have been trained to meet the latest legislation
and comply with all Health & Safety regulations.
*In most cases a blocked drain
can be cleared within the hour, of course this
is dependant on a variety of factors such as ease
of access and location among others, if a manhole
cover or inspection chamber needs to be located
because at some point in time it was interred or
one was never built as is sometimes the case, then
this can result in time and money lost by both
the service engineer on site and the client.
